Five Sentence Fiction - Summer Rain

Kate idly watched as the water slowly formed interconnecting lines on the window pane.

The tea was hot and the scones rich with butter were fresh and warm from the oven, as rain shelters go this was heaven.

“Well they say there was blood everywhere, she was such a sweet young thing, if you ask me I think the police should talk to that young lad from Dale’s farm, I never did like the look of him”.

Kate smiled as the conversation drifted over the tables.

What could be more English than a tea room, summer rain, village gossip and a midsummer murder.

  2. Cute teapot. Wow, that cosy imagery of tea on a rainy day and then combined with the gory talk!
